I am a bit particular about our bed.
To be more specific,
I am QUITE particular about every aspect when it comes to the bed I sleep in the vast majority of my life.
I really want it to be comfortable. Well, comfortable and cool, squishy and layered. 100% cotton white sheets are a must. And here’s another weirdity, I only own one pair. They are really nice ‘Hotel’ style sheets that I bought about two years ago at Belk. Why only one set? Because I like to wash them in my favorite detergent, dry them just enough and put them right back on our bed. I do this on Fridays. I also clean my tail off on Fridays as well. Then I cook a good Dinner for us, have a glass of really good wine and take a long, HOT bath and crawl in to that big bed of ours and smell those sheets. Also on our big bed is a matelasse coverlet ( same washing instructions ) and a quilt down at the foot of the bed.
Now here’s where its gets racy.
The weight of said quilt depends on the Season.
Last Christmas Santa Clause brought me this gray velvet quilt set. I washed it and put it way in the Spring when the weather got warmer. I dug it out two weeks ago in honor of our first cool snap of the Season. I had honestly forgotten how good this thing feels on our bed. It is oh so soft!
I love curling up in it 🙂
While I was at it I traded out all the navy and white pillows for a collection of gray ones and swapped the blue striped throw for my cable knit one.
While I was on a roll I cleared of the rathole that was my bedside table and restyled that as well.
The frames art is another Etsy find. Those pheasant feathers are printed on a page from an antique French Dictionary. When it came in the mail I dug an old black frame out of my stash and popped it in. I love how it looks with the old piece of silver and the black lamp.
I also move the black and white photo of us above my chest.
To me it feels a lot different in our bedroom though. The colors, the quilt, the velvet……
Oh yea. And I actually dusted.
Write it down.
