I think everybody that knows me or reads this little old blog knows that as a vender at Vintage Market Days Asheville, I am without a doubt taking furniture. What you might not know is that I have been absolutely obsessed with curating a collection of Smalls.
Today I’m sharing the lumbar pillows I have made for the Market.
All of the fabrics that I used came from my own personal hoard (Lord, have I got a problem!). I didn’t have to go out and purchase any at all.
Speaks volumes don’t it?
I started by laying all of the fabric remnants that I have chipmunked over the past few years out on my bed. I was really happy that I could put together a collection for this Market that had enough variety and patterns/textures that sort of blended and complimented each other well.
There is one thing that I learned at the March Market. If your primary product is furniture, you really have to be careful with smalls. You can not cover or clutter up your big pieces with a big mess of smalls. So needless to say I was soooo excited to score this vintage laundry basket to display some of my pillows in. I am taking several chairs with me this time so I will use a smaller lumbar pillow in those chairs. So far I have been able to score down inserts for all of the pillows I am taking. I really like them better than a foam or pollyfill. We really wallow the pillows on both our couches and or bed.
Down just holds up better.
I have also lucked up on other types of textiles and bedding.
I have a few ideas about sharing those here on the blog in the next few days.
So stay tuned :)))
Blogs I love!
